Redpoint Bristol is proud to support Queer Climb:

“After noticing that there are a lot of queer climbers but there wasn’t a dedicated queer safe space at climbing walls in Bristol, we wanted to create a group for anyone who identifies themselves in the LGBTQIA+ community to feel welcome, make friends and climb in a supportive space.

Queer Climb is for adults of any age (18+), ability or orientation. Whether you have been climbing all your life, dabbled, or this is your first time you are all invited to join us!

Queer Climb is held at Redpoint on the 3rd Friday of the month, 18:30 – 19:30.

What to expect from our sessions: We’re big on creating a supportive and encouraging environment, we cheer everyone on whether you are flashing a hard route or getting to the top of a beginner route you have been struggling with. Small victories and big victories are equal at Queer Climb. Whilst we don’t provide coaching we work together as a group to project problems, giving tips and suggestions as we go.”

Queer Climbing is a community group supported by Flashpoint and Redpoint Bristol.

It is run by a group of climbers who want to make climbing more accessible to people in the LGBTQ+ community.

They meet up regularly to provide a friendly, welcoming, community space where the group can climb together and express themselves freely.

Everyone is welcome no matter what your climbing experience! There is NO fitness or strength criteria. All levels are welcome, even complete novices!

The Redpoint meet ups will focus more on roped climbing, as well as a bit of bouldering. If you are not a competent rope climber then a volunteer from the group will supervise you on the ropes. When booking, please answer if you are a competent rope climber or if you need supervision so that the Queer Climbing group can prepare with enough volunteers for the evening.
