If you are new to climbing, then welcome! You’re more than fine to just rock up and speak to a receptionist and we’ll get you bouldering, however, if you’re keen to learn some of the basics, we’d recommend a taster session.
No matter what your experience, you will be asked to watch a short video induction, read our conditions of use and fill out a registration form. The staff will ask you a couple of questions to ensure you have understood the induction and then you will be free to use the centre.
Please pre-register online before you arrive to beat the queue and save valuable climbing time!
Please note – we have lockers and changing rooms but you will need your own padlock to secure your locker.
If you are looking for kids indoor activities & classes check out the kids page here. If you are looking to supervise your own children please see below (further info can be found on our Supervision page).
You can supervise your own children from whatever age you feel they are ready. Climbing walls are not safe environments for children to run free. We have high standards of supervision in our centres. Please remember it may not be possible for you to both climb for yourself AND supervise a child at the same time. This is particularly true of small children or when you are supervising two children.
An adult who has registered at our bouldering centre will normally be allowed to supervise two children.
The supervising adult must take full responsibility for the safety of the participants and complete the relevant paperwork.
We do allow experienced teenagers to register to boulder unsupervised, but they must get a parent to complete an enhanced parental consent form on top of their standard registration form.
If you are 14 or 15 your parent will need to visit the centre in order to complete the forms with you.
Competent boulderers aged 16+ are welcome to climb independently at Redpoint, provided they fill out the relevant registration forms. Independent climbing for all ages is at the duty managers discretion and can be revoked at any time.
You’re welcome to climb with us whether you’re new to climbing or experienced. Experienced climbers who can tie in, put on a harness and belay can sign up and use any of our facilities. You can also sign up to use the Auto-belays if you can put on a harness correctly and clip in but do not know how to tie in or belay.
If you’ve not rope climbed before you can either do a Beginners Course or have a friend supervise you. Registered competent climbers can supervise up to two novices of any age in the centre up to their corresponding registration ability.
