External Instructors

We welcome external instructors using our centres, whether you’re running a small private session or bringing a larger group. To make sure everything runs smoothly and safely, we’ve outlined how external coaching works at Flashpoint Climbing Group centres, when you need to contact us in advance, what documentation may be required, how entry fees apply, and what responsibilities both coaches and participants have.

Please check the sections below to see which guidelines apply to your visit.

Fair Use Policy:
Participants Acceptance of Risk:

External Coaches / Instructors delivering private sessions (1:1 or 1:2) do not require an induction and may attend without prior notice. Both the coach and participant(s) must be registered to climb with us, and any climber under the age of 18 must have a completed supervision form. Standard entry fees apply for the participants and the coach.

We strongly recommend that all commercial coaches hold appropriate qualifications and insurance.

External Coaches / Instructors wishing to use our centres for groups of 3 or more must contact us prior to their first visit. An induction will be required, and you will need to provide the following documentation:
• Public liability insurance
• First aid certification
• Relevant climbing/coaching qualifications (CWI, BWI)

We are pleased to offer discounted entry rates for approved groups.

External Coaches / Instructors will be monitored and if they are using our facilities for more than a few sessions per week we may seek a bespoke contract outside of the above policy.

Please note that if you choose to be coached/instructed by an external individual whom you have arranged independently, the centre accepts no liability for injuries sustained during the session or as a result of any incorrect guidance provided by that coach/instructor.
